Care Group

Care Group

The Care Group at St. John’s was established several years ago to provide support, assistance and spiritual care in times of need for church members and in some cases the wider community of Ainsdale.

Our aims are as follows:

To continue to provide Home Communion to those, who, some reason are unable to attend St. John’s and have indicated that they wish to take Communion. Several of our members are qualified in this respect to administer Home Communion.

We will provide home visits by Care Group members for whatever reason, it could be in the case of illness, to see a friendly face, just for a chat or some other problem, if the visit is requested.

Bereavement visits will continue to be made, at present they are carried out by our vicar, Graham. Further visits can also be arranged if requested.

We will also contact bereaved families by letter with information of Memorial Services when they have been arranged.

To care for church members in hospital or visiting hospital. We have an excellent link with the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital and are able to arrange visits to in patients where required and also to arrange to transport people for hospital visits who are unable to attend by other means.

As a group we consist of eighteen members and all members should be carrying an identification card. It is important that people let the Clergy or Churchwardens know if they know of anyone who is ill, in need of care or a visit or perhaps someone who would like Home Communion.
