Dear sisters and brothers,
I am writing to you because we are all part of St John’s Church Ainsdale and due to the Coronavirus crisis we are learning to live in a new way. Although we are unable to worship in church, we are still ‘church’ as we are the body of Christ. We are called to do church in a different way, to be a community of love and care, a community in Christ.
Our Archbishops and Diocesan Bishops remind us that “Staying at home and demonstrating solidarity with the rest of the country at this testing time, is, we believe, the right way of helping and ministering to our nation. Therefore, for a season, the centre for the liturgical life of the church must be the home, not the church building”.
As a church we are currently seeking to minister to you in a variety of ways in your home, either by phone, email, through the Website and Facebook.
There are a variety of services available to you on the internet and our website for worship, prayer and reflection.
Please do stay safe, be assured of my prayers and know the love and peace of God,
Father, by whose mercy
the world turns safely into darkness and returns again to light:
we place in your hands our unfinished tasks,
our unsolved problems, and our unfulfilled hopes,
knowing that only what you bless will prosper.
To your love and protection
we commit each other and all those we love,
knowing that you alone are our sure defender,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
With my love and blessings,
Rev'd Jane Morgan MBE
Vicar St John's Church Ainsdale, 708 Liverpool Road, Ainsdale, Southport, PR8 3QE
