The Stitchers

The Stitchers

Just A Sample ImageThe Stitchers is a group of fun loving ladies with a variety of talents including, crocheting,  quilting,  sewing, cutting, applique, collage, card making, making tea, or just generally helping out.

We come together each Tuesday afternoon, 2 o’clock until 4 o’clock in the Church Hall, but we would never exclude any Gentlemen joining. Our aim is to raise money for the Church Re-development Fund as well as enjoying ourselves.

It all started early in 2012 when we had a “Vision” to create a more reverent atmosphere for our services in the hall while we are out of our Church. So we decided to make some decorative banners, which are now hung on the wall behind the Altar. We also wanted to do something to commemorate this with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and held a fun afternoon Strawberry Tea in June. We met to discuss the designs with everyone contributing to the ideas and within a week we were up and running. The banners were made from different materials, generously given to us. So we came together every Tuesday afternoon to spend a couple of busy hours sewing, cutting, stitching etc, but having great fun at the same time.

Our little group shares a real community spirit and we have all been able to make new friends. Some of us have had days out to Fleetwood Market and shops in Liverpool to find things for our Textile Projects.
