If there are five Sundays in a month then services are the same as the 1st, 3rd, 4th Sundays except that the evening service uses the BCP.
10.30 a.m. Holy Communion in Church - BCP
Holy Communion from the BCP Book - The BCP (or Book of Common Prayer) is the oldest of the prayer book in use. It was written in 1662 and uses 'traditional' language such as 'thee' and 'thou'. It is probably the most difficult of our services to follow if you are new but many people like the poetry in the old language once they get used to it. The 8am Sunday service doesn't have any hymns but does have a short sermon. The Thursday service is a typical BCP service but with no music, with 'Thought of the day' and is not a full sermon.
Holy Communion from the BCW Book - The BCW (or Book of Common Worship) uses much more modern language that the BCP. The 9.30 Sunday service has three hymns accompanied on the organ from one of 'Hymns Ancient & Modern', 'Songs & Hymns of Fellowship' or our own hymn/song collection. There is a sermon, two bible readings (one from a Gospel) and intercessions (prayers) led by a member of the congregation. The service lasts between an hour and an hour & a quarter.
Evening Prayer from the BCW Book - Like our BCW Holy Communion service this service has a sermon, readings and three hymns (accompanied on the organ). It also includes sung psalms and canticles.
