Here at St John ‘s Church we are delighted to be in the first cohort of parishes in our Diocese to take
part in a National Christening Initiative “Three Steps to Christenings”.
This is great news, as we want to make this first step for your child on this amazing Christian journey
as positive and welcoming as it can be - a journey that is only just beginning, shared with God,
parents, godparents, family, friends and the church. A lifetime of discovering more about love, faith
and hope – a wonderful moment to celebrate.
If you are interested in having your child christened, you can complete the baptism booking form
below and return it to us via the link - email@example.com – or you can contact our
Baptism Co-ordinator, Linda Davies direct on 07720784757.
We will also require at a later stage details of all Godparents. Please See Here.
Currently our Baptism Services, will take place on the 1st or 3rd Sunday in each month. Once contact has been made, a member of our designated Baptism team will visit you at home, if circumstances relating to the pandemic allow........
This is an opportunity for us to meet you and your child, and answer any questions you may have and give us
the names and addresses of your chosen godparents for our records, and whether they have been baptised.
Once a date has been confirmed with the Vicar, she will make a visit nearer to the time to explain
what happens in the Baptism Service.
You and your family are warmly invited to come to church whenever you can and we will endeavour
to keep in touch in other ways, both before and after the christening.
In the meantime, you will find the web site https://churchofenglandhristenings.org/ will answer
many of the questions you may have.
Adults wishing to be baptised are also warmly welcomed.
The church does not make any charge for christening/baptism. However, a memory stick of the
service for you to keep will cost £10.
For further information and to check available dates please contact :
or complete this form .
We very much look forward to hearing from you.
