Ainsdale St Johns Church - Special Services

Our worship reflects a wide range of services to hopefully enable worshippers to find the one that best meets their needs. The following section describes the different services and the pattern of worship.

For information on services this month please click here

Each Sunday the pattern of worship is as follows:

8.30am - Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer
This is a quiet service without music and a “Thought for the Day” rather than a sermon.

10.30am – Family Communion
In this service we worship using a variety of liturgy from the Book of Common Worship and with music provided by our Choir and Organ and our Music Group. There are children’s activities every week and some weeks the children join us for communion. There is an opportunity for a time of fellowship after this service and refreshments are served.

6.30pm - Evening Prayer using the Book of Common Worship
Takes place each Sunday evening with a Communion Service taking place on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Our Choir and Organ provide the music for these services. Please note that on the 3rd Sunday of each month, we have the following services instead of the 10.30 am Family Communion Service:

10.30am - A Parade Service
Involving the uniformed organisations affiliated to our church.

1.00pm - A Baptism Service
This is currently held in Ainsdale Methodist Church.

10.30am - Each Thursday
There is a service of Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer
